The Good, The Sad, and The Waiting...

Ever since we accepted Lucy's referral on 9/24, there has been so much to get excited about. Getting our dossier together... surprise new photos and updates...meeting other families adopting from Taiwan -- it's all kept us busy and smiling. Add two preschoolers to the mix and it's easy to get distracted from waiting. But now, it's really sinking in. I'm so lucky to have met other waiting moms who are in the same boat but knowing it can be months and months before we hold our daughter is much more difficult to deal with than we expected.

When you become a parent, you're so surprised that no one told you how much it's possible to feel for a tiny human being you've only known for a short time. But when you adopt, no one tells you how overnight, this stranger becomes your child...part of your family - at least in your heart.

It doesn't seem possible that there will come a day when we get to meet Lucy and love her forever. Please pray that it happens soon. We are!
