You Had to Know It Was Coming...

And they say Fall doesn't happen in California. So maybe it was 70 degrees - but at least there were leaves!

Happy Halloween from the Mac 4.5

Someone got tired carrying that heavy costume...

And someone else discovered chocolate comes in a variety of flavors.

Call Me!

Good news... we got a call yesterday from our agency. Bad news... no word on when we'll be entered into the court yet. Wah.

But we did get some Lucy updates. Our 9-month-old (tomorrow) weighs in at 13.28 lbs and is 25.59 in long. She's so tiny it worries us. But they also said she's eating rice cereal, oatmeal, mashed fruits/veggies and eggs. Nice to see she's getting her fruits and veggies and doesn't seem to have the egg allergy her brother does. Is it possible someone in this household other than myself won't be a picky eater?

Judy sent some more photos from her third and final day with the babies. Unfortunately, she and Steve weren't able to bring Eric home yet. We continue to pray for them. Just let them bring their baby home!

She got some cute photos of the SLC girls. Lucy's got great friends in Samantha and Sophia. Aren't they little sweeties? Sophia will be home in just a few weeks with Samantha to hopefully follow soon after.

Go Shoes!

For the past several days, as we've watched our team duke it out in the World Series, our 2-year-old has been walking around the house saying "Go Shoes!". Jeff and I have laughed and looked at each other like "shoes? huh?" - whatever.

Last night it finally hit us.

What do you put on before shoes? Yup, socks. That is where his little head goes! Go Red Sox becomes Go Shoes.

So...

GO SHOES!

Poor Lucy has no idea what she's in for coming into our family. My side of the family lives in Red Sox nation. She'll be learning that culture as much as we'll be learning hers.

Can I get a Woo Hoo?

Yes! Our dossier made it to Taiwan! Even though we knew it was sent Tuesday, it's a tiny victory when you hear it actually arrived at its destination. As you can see by the pink heart post it at the bottom of the letter, Kerry - our agency program director- is also a Red Sox fan. Go Sox, indeed!

Today, our agency hosted a class different from those we've been to before. Amy, a 20-something young woman, was adopted at 3-months-old from Korea. She shared her story of international adoption and the challenges she's faced growing up in a multi-cultural family. We felt like our eyes were opened a little bit to things we hadn't thought of. But we also feel like we're going into this with our heads and hearts in the right place. We also got to meet Kimberly whose little princess, Rachel, came home from China recently. It was so nice to see Rachel in person after following their blog for so long. And we got the chance to catch up with Marina and Wes. They're getting closer to referral day! We look forward to getting to know them as both of our families continue on the adoption journey.

Jeff and I found it funny that our "alone" time away from the kids is often for things like adoption classes. Are we romantic or what?

Snack attack!

This photo makes me laugh every time I look at it. Lucy takes on a treat like her mom-to-be! You've got to love the face.

And this one is just cute... let's get all these babies home already!

To Taiwan With Love...

We got the call at 4:30 today that our dossier and first care package are on the way to Taiwan! We are so happy to check off another thing on our list. The next call we get should be to let us know that our case has been logged into the court. We're told 3-4 weeks but we've decided that it will be less than two weeks. Way to stay positive, huh?

This morning, I woke to find more photos of Lucy in my email inbox. Steve and Judy spent another day with the babies at SLC and were so sweet to send more pics!

Check out Miss Lucy hanging out with her friends. What's amazing is that I've gotten to know the other babies' moms a little bit. I love that all our kids will be able to stay in touch with their first friends. (and probably cause a lot of trouble!)

Lucy took a nap in Steve's arms. I just love that! And Judy wrote this about it:
"Lucy fell asleep in Steve's arm and the nanny said that is very unusual since it is sometimes difficult for her to fall sleep."

Note to Miss Lucy: Work on that "difficult to sleep" thing now. We like our zzzz's around here.
