Since premiering the video for Song for Lucy, over 900 people have come to the blog—that's in 3 days! It's been viewed on YouTube over 1300 times and I've seen it shared on other blogs and adoption sites, including Mom Logic, of course.

To know that something Jeff did for Lucy and our family has touched so many others has been a huge gift. To see the one you love's dream of making music realized, if even just a little (so far), makes me so proud of him.

The latest on Lucy: our agency was in Taiwan the other day but we haven't heard any updates yet. I was told they'd try to contact us on April 2 (also my birthday) but nothing yet. But if I get my way after blowing out the candles...

Update: 3/31 at 8 p.m. WOW! We're getting such huge response to the song and video! Thank you all SO much! Yes, Jeff wrote, sang, and played the music on the song as well as edited the video. We're excited to get it up on itunes ASAP so everyone can own it!

Don't Tell Him He's Not Asian

J is two months shy of his 4th birthday and has recently started taking classes in Mandarin. He's doing so well—he actually walked out of class last week (lesson 2) counting to 10. He's learned hi, bye, thank you, some animals & colors—he even sings a few songs in Chinese. It's the perfect time to take classes—at this age, they really nail the pronounciation. It amazes me. (of course the minute I turn the camera on, all interest in performing quickly goes out the window)
This photo is so perfect in showcasing J's personality. He really has a good sense of who he is and has started experimenting with his own "style." He'll seriously put on this outdoor vest and hat over his pajamas and hit the sack. I love that he wants what we wants and doesn't care what anyone thinks—I hope that continues.

We Survived...

The days leading up to Lucy's birthday led us to believe it was going to be one tough day. We were right. BUT it was a bit easier to get through with such huge support from family and friends. And the boys (including the 6'4" one) and I had a little celebration in honor of Lucy's big day.

The first ever pink cupcakes made here in the Mac house! (can you tell we let the boys do the sprinkling?)
We let big bro J take the first bite.
Yum! Daddy approves.
Chomp, chomp, chomp.
And then there's our little dude who doesn't like sweets. This photo is classic B when it comes to goodies. Who is this kid?
And here are the boys singing Happy Birthday for the 47th time. We decided to keep the real one— with candle and wishes— for Lucy to see first.
